Well it’s June 15th and I have to ask…
How many of those New Year’s Commitments have you kept?
How about the ones from the start of COVID when you knew you had several weeks at home on the horizon?
How are those going?
Like most people you’ve probably struggled to keep some commitments.
The commitments you made to yourself, about yourself.
You said you wanted to get in shape, get up earlier, be a better spouse, do a special project around the house, or eat healthier.
But at the end of a 3 or 6 month period you’re still uncommitted. Why?
The reason is that Will power rarely works.
Staying true to yourself and all of your commitments starts with why you want to do it in the first place.
It continues with consistently reminding your brain that you are a committed person.
That you do what you say you will do.
No matter what.
That you want to please the one person on the planet that is truly worth pleasing: YOURSELF.
Start today.
- Examine the areas of your life where you haven’t kept your commitments to yourself.
- Determine one thing that you are committed to do this week.
- Remind yourself why you want to do it in the first place.
- Remind your brain that you do what you say you will do.
Do it every day.
Every single day.
You’ll begin to become more confident in yourself and over time and
Your commitment level will increase exponentially.
